Our Response to Covid-19
We hope you’re all keeping safe and well. It is completely normal to feel a range of emotions about the lockdown, especially the recent move into Level 2, and we want to make sure we are continuing to support rainbow young people digitally.
Bouncing of the momentum from our digital Shift Hui in April, we are continuing to provide online workshops, activities and support during this time and facilitate an online space where rainbow young people can stay connected. Throughout our Hui we were treated to a range of online sessions run by rainbow people including workshops on queer history, writing support, art, and healthy relationships.
Online workshops also enable us to reach further across Aotearoa and ensure our rainbow rangatahi who may not be able to attend in-person events are supported and included. We have some awesome content coming up over the next few weeks, including:
Disability Justice Workshop: Sunday 24th May
Faith Based Leaders Panel: Sunday 31st May
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for updates and registrations.
We also have lots of other online content in the works including a butch/femme workshop, gender affirming make-up session, live cooking, study tips and art
workshops!
If you would like to sign up to our email list to hear more about our workshops please let us know here:
If you have any ideas for online content you’d like to see, or would like to run a workshop please flick an email to sophie@insideout.org.nz – we’d love to hear from you!
We are running our regional Q’D UP events to support queer straight alliance/rainbow diversity group leaders online for the foreseeable future, including our new Q’D UP Aotearoa group for students anywhere in NZ.
Our Schools Coordinators have been continuing to support schools remotely and will come into schools on a case by case basis. Our professional development workshops have been on hold but we are taking bookings again for events that can abide by the government guidelines. We are still offering consultation services and can consider online speaking or workshop opportunities on a case by case basis.
Aroha nui kia koutou!
