InsideOUT Kōaro’s vision is for all rainbow young people in Aotearoa New Zealand to have a sense of safety and belonging in their schools and communities.
OUR MISSION | Ko te Uaratanga
Our two-part mission is:
- 1) To work with youth, whānau, schools, community groups, youth services, government agencies and other relevant organisations to provide safer schools and communities for rainbow (LGBTQIA+) and takatāpui young people.
- 2) To foster the building and provision of resources, education, information, hui and relevant tools which work to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of rainbow young people.

Our Te Tiriti Journey
As a predominantly tauiwi organisation originating within te ao Pākehā, InsideOUT Kōaro has a responsibility to continuously work to whakamana Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We seek to embody its principles by engaging more ethically, competently, and accountably with Māori both internally and externally in all aspects of our mahi.
We recognise our responsibility to uphold the mana of takatāpui as tangata whenua, especially in the Aotearoa rainbow charity work space.
